Here I am at work, idly watching each hour slip by.. waiting for 5:00 so I can go to my piano lesson and then go home! I got very little sleep last night because I got home so late from Hebrew lessons in Detroit. It was raining and dark and when that happens I need to drive very carefully because I tend to hallucinate under those conditions. I hope the snow holds off until class is over with. Then I'll have the option of not going to Bible study (scheduled at 7pm... Hebrew is after.. at 8pm) if the roads are bad. As it stands I have to make every effort to be there at Hebrew class because not only will I miss critical information, I am getting it for free because I'm a full member of the congregation. Everyone else had to pay 75 dollars. So I figure if I'm getting it for free, they are doing me a favor and the least I can do is show up! I really want to learn Hebrew. The classes are coming along. My big thing now is learning vocabulary words. I can read the aleph-bet and can read from those but the meaning of the words are now the thing to learn. Rabbi Glenn wanted us to get comfortable reading Hebrew out loud from the characters and vowel dots and lines. It's a very beautiful language. And the plus is that I will be able to use it with other people who actually speak it. Not to mention, I will know what the Hebrew parts of the services on Shabbat mean before they give the English translation!
