Well, Tuesday afternoon we took off for hollywood. we had a connecting flight in cincinatti, ohio. The wait wasn't too terribly long and i had ken and joel and gabriella (his wife) to talk to. anyway we arrive in LAX and go down to the baggage claim and found our driver holding a sign with our name on it. the driver had a limo waiting for us and we got in and he took us to the hotel. there was trail mix and pop and a tv and glass containers of brandy, gin, and vodka and glasses and stuff. we got to the hotel and it was amazing. it was the universal hollywood hotel. we got in and ordered room service (also paid for by paramount) and went to sleep. In the morning we found our driver waiting for us and Joel and Gabriella met us in the lobby. the driver took us to paramount studios. we had to show our drivers licenses to get in the gate. they were filming 'mission impossible 3' there but we didn't get to see tom cruise (i would have slapped him if i could have .. ehe) anyway we went into the studio and met the producers that we've been talking to on the phone all this time... Then they took me to makeup and a man did my makeup. and then i had my hair done and then wardrobe made me change my shirt to one they gave me and they brought in high heels and i said no way i'm not wearing those. lol.. then the producer wanted to show me the video they had prepared to show on the show. they wanted me to see it to tell them if it was accurate or not. for the most part it was so i said ok. then they took me to see the stage and stuff before the audience came in. so that i would be comfortable with it. then they took me back stage and the audience came in and i got really nervous and they did some stuff to pump the audience up about dr. phil and then he came out and everyone cheered.. then he introduced the topic and me and they brought me out and i got onstage. ken was on one side of me and i had his hand in a death grip and dr. phil was to my left and Joel was in front of me in the front row center of the audience. dr. phil asked me questions and i can't remember ANY of what i said on the show. lol my memory is so bad. well anyway the funniest part came when after the show they had to retape my introduction and dr. phil said to me 'now we're going to be talking about you for a minute ok?' and i said 'oh yeah i get that alot. i'm used to it' and he started cracking up and the audience cracked up then applauded me and dr. phil said 'i got a schizophenic with a sense of humor!..lol... well i was relieved when the show was over. i'll spare the details of the show for when you see it! but after the show was done taping Joel rented a car and drove us all over (he used to live there).. we saw rodeo drive and the stars on the sidewalk and walked up and down venice beach and went to santa monica to the pier. there's a ferris wheel and a roller coaster on the pier and lots of shops. i found some sunglasses and got a little figurine of the 'see no evil hear no evil' monkeys. i remember how badly she'd want my aunt vi's figurine of the monkeys but it was no where to be found when she moved to the nursing home. i figured it was the least i could do for talking about her on tv. anyway we went to lunch in a restaurant by the ocean and Joel paid for it. then we went outside and fed the pigeons. they flew up and landed all over us. it was hilarious. Joel at one point had three pigeons on his arms and two on his shoulders and on on his head and two on his knees (he was sitting down).. lol anyway we drove around a lot more and saw stuff and then went back to the hotel and ordered a steak dinner and chicken quesadillas for room service and then woke up and met the driver to take us back to the airport. Gabriella came back with us but Joel stayed in hollywood and rented a car to drive to san francisco to see his parents. he was going to fly back from there on saturday (today). anyway more later!
