Mooree to Broken Hill
In category General on 11 Jan 2008 @ 07:26 pm
I won't put too many photos of the scenery as it didn't change so much during the day. There were a few willy willys but they were nothing compared to the dust storm just out of Broken Hill. I'll let the photos do the explaining.

Also. Could someone remind me to stitch together the pano I just took from on top of the mine waste.
Have fun everyone.

That is not what you want to see when you're driving along! Change the air filter.

It was very cool. The dust storm had its own lightning and everything. The dust itself was blowing straight across the road and we think it might have just been a storm front creating a strong breeze.
Exciting anyway.

I love the way it looks so dusty, as if someone just grabbed the dirt on the ground and hurled it into the sky.

We drove through it for about 20kms before the storm on the otherside let loose some rain and that seemed to clear things up a bit. There was a very strong cross breeze running down the length of it and that seemed to be what stirred up the dust.

Hmmm. Spectacular to look at but absolutley shitful to be in. I've never forgotten the one I was in at Birdsville. The dust gets EVERYWHERE. Glad you weren't camping.
