Buses on Corronation Drive
In category General on 19 Mar 2007 @ 09:24 am
What a joke!

For some reason or another I was going out to uni last night to work on C code. No car means I had to take public transport, and I just missed the train. So I walked to Corronation drive and waited at the bus stop opposite Lang pde. and in typical bus style there was none for 25 minutes then 2 at once. I just waited and chatted on my phone and when I saw the bus coming I walked to the edge of the bus stop and put my hand out and it didn't even slow down. There are trees and crap in the way and they could have just seen me too late to stop, but I doubt it.

So I yelled and swore a bit and waited for the next bus with some girl that had turned up as well in the last half an hour. The next bus wasn't too far away and I managed to get this one to stop but you can see the point where the driver was deciding if he should stop, realised he'd slowed down too much to pretend he hadn't seen me and had to stop anyway. I got on the bus and showed him my ticket, he shut and door and drove off, leaving the girl trying to get in the door at the bus stop.

The bus was basically empty so it took like no time to get to uni and we pulled up just behind the first bus at St Lucia, about 10 seconds after it had arrived.
We need a complaints form for public transport. That happens all the time.

We should all write to our local member of government and complain really. They aren't going to do anything about it if they can pretend it's all good.

And it's not a problem with the system, it's a problem with the drivers. In this case at least.

More buses with the same people driving won't help.

LOL. Well half the time the buses dont even turn up at night. nightlink is particularly unreliable... complaining is probably a good idea.
