McNaught's Comet
In category General on 19 Jan 2007 @ 08:37 pm
Just while everyone is busy watching it I took a couple of photos. This one is just an example of what it looks like after the image was cropped (because that's cheaper than a good telephoto lens even if it's not as good quality).

Taken at about 7:30pm tonight just, (25 degrees apparently), South of the sunset. Unfortunately the cloud was in the path of the comet so we were only able to see it while the sky was still quite light. Tomorrow night should be better (weather permitting).

And this is an uncropped one just so you don't get your hopes up about what you'll see.
The horizontal streak is a plane.

Unfortunately weather and time did not permit. On the upside, one of my photos was printed in the local paper where I'm from. I have a scanned copy to upload later

They needed photos and I had some. It's not all that complex. Scanned copy now uploaded.
