Super fun happy afternoon

This is almost a geebin kind of post but there are enough other things in there to keep everyone entertained.
It all started when I got my work done too quickly and got sent home at 3:45pm. Yay you all say? Well I only get paid for the hours I'm there so I really just did myself out of an hours pay. Of course it started raining when I left so the walk from the bus was interesting enough, something like swimming when wearing all your clothes. But even after all of this, I was home by 4:15. Next item on the agenda was to quickly call Belkin about getting my wireless card working. (Quickly like a dead sloth).
Initially I stood and waited on hold while constantly (every 2 minutes and 50 seconds), being told that 'All our agents are busy with other customers, but if I stay on hold they'll be with me shortly'. After half an hour I realised that they were going for the hope-they-die-while-on-hold-and-hang-up-with-their-last-whisps-of-life philosophy on support. Eventually they should have realised that I wasn't going away and just answered the phone but that would have been too simple. After 30 minutes i was getting pretty bored of sitting around and eating junk food so I started getting the odd jobs done around the house. I put my shower door back up and stuff. Then I ran out of things to do within ear-shot of the phone so I got bored again. Then I noticed i had a business VoIP phone.
So what do you do when you have 4 lines and very cheap calls? I put the Belkin hold music on hold and starting ringing all my friends to ask them if there was anything they wanted to ask while I was going through all the trouble to get past the queue. They didn't. Then I found the other phone numbers on the box. The ones for Melbourne, UK and USA all recieved phone calls while I waited. The other australian number put me back in the queue behind myself and the overseas ones were out of office hours but they did have the same recorded messages in different accents. Definitely worth the 5 cents or something it cost me.
FINALLY!! After over an hour, I got through. Their response was that my system was unsupported so they couldn't help me, (i.e. they didn't WANT to help me). So I still need to find a 54mb/s wireless card that will work in my desktop (obviously not PCI), so I can get rid of this cat5e. Suggestions?
