Travels winding down

So I have one more whole day left here and I imagine I'm going to be doing a lot of sleeping to make up for getting up at 4am this morning and haveing to get up at like 4am on Wednesday. I had a great trip and saw lots of interesting places and took lots of interesting photos.
I started with a 24 hour stop in Tokyo, Japan where I was still so nervous that I only walked as far as the 7/11 type place to buy coke and chocolate. From there I went to L.A. and it was all smoggy and yellow so I was glad to be out of there. Chicago is a nice enough city but I hate O'Hare airport because I was stuck there for 5 hours after basically being awake from when I left Tokyo about 20 something hours earlier. When I finally made it to Michigan I was so tired (it was 3:30am here), I just slept all day. I just chilled in Lansing, MI for a couple of weeks before Roe and I drove to Minnesota to see Alex. We left mid-morning and just drove there almost non-stop which took 10 hours. While there for the weekend we went to the Mall of America which was a BAD IDEA a week before christmas. Alex had the cutest kitten called Joey and he was so little. Photos in the United States gallery. The next weekend I went to Miami to go see Ariel and that was cool. I got to hang out for the weekend in Coconut Grove and I was sad when I had to go before christmas.
I just rested in Lansing again for three weeks, keeping Roe's cats company and doing a lot of nerdy stuff that I would have been doing if I was at home. In the middle of January, Roe and I went to Toronto, Canada for the weekend to see what was happening. We planned to go to the NAIAS on the way but because it was the first weekend the show was open it was too busy to get within a dozen blocks of it. Instead we went to Niagra Falls (on the Canada side) and spent a freezing hour or two taking some photos before we got back on the QEW and drove on to Toronto, arriving just before sunset. The next day we went to the Royal Ontario Museum and walked around there for half the day and that was very tiring. That night we went up the C.N. Tower at sunset and I took some night photos, (see the Canada gallery).
Last weekend Roe and I went to Las Vegas to visit her aunt. We went to a theatre show that Roe's cousin was in, called Loot, (It was good), but that's all we were up to after flying all night. The next day we went to Red Rock Canyon which was kind of cool with all the cliffs around. The next day we drove to the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. That was a whole day trip after a 4 hour drive each way (and the scenery along the way was nice too). The next day we went and wandered the strip where we saw no less than a million wedding chapels, pawn shops and casinos. We watched the fountain at the Bellagio before we went in and had a look around at the fanciest hotel in the city. The legal gambling age in Nevada is 21 (and I'm 20) so I got some chips as souvenirs before we went to Bally's and got lunch. Our flight left at 11pm so we drove down the strip at night on our way to the airport and I took some more (blurry) photos (all of which can be found in my Las Vegas gallery).
This weekend I went back to Miami to see Ariel again and I had an awesome time (even if I did run out of money) and we chilled in Miami Beach for the weekend. I can't wait to get back again. Tomorrow I rest for one more day and then early Wednesday morning I leave for Brisbane again with no long stops anywhere. That's going to be one long flight.. At the moment my long term plans are to finish my last subject at uni while working full time. I'm going to try and save as much money as possible and then move over to the United States and try get citizenship so I can live here. Apart from that there will be lots of travelling with friends and a lot of projects.
