Virtual DVD+-R
In category Geebin on 28 Dec 2005 @ 04:02 am
I've just wasted half an hour or so looking for a Virtual DVD+R emulator and I'm met by stupidity and insults. My specific problem is that I have a dvd-decrypter image that has an error and is unable to be opened by anything else. I can burn it to a dvd if I had a dvd drive but I'm on my laptop. I want a virtual dvd writer so I can write an ISO from a arbitrary program.
Now here is the stupidity that are the replies..
1. Use daemon-tools, it mounts lots of images.. It's a DVD-ROM. Not very useful when it won't mount this image.
2. Nero/Alcohol 120% has image writers.. I need to write it from DVD-decrypter.
There have been several suggestions as to where to start but the best one I've heard is get the daemon tools software and tweak it to an ISO writer. If anyone has heard of this project being started or wants to help, let me know asap!

The problem was that it had saved a corrupt mds file and daemon tools wouldn't mount it but dvd decrypter would still burn it. I managed to find a way to rebuild the mds file and all is well. There are many other uses for a virtual burner tho.

A virtual burner would be great, I went looking a while back when I was playing around making photo CDs, but couldn't find any.
