Day 1: Narita, Japan

I started missing Lisa before she'd even left the airport. :( Now I'm here and I have a terrible headache and I could really use a hug from her.
I was feeling so nervous that I was making myself feel sick, but luckily I had opted to skip breakfast. I managed to make it onto the plane with no dramas where I sat and started out the window at nothing for about 8 hours where I did notice icicles growing on the outside of the window. (My other option was to watch an Adam Sandler movie). In between admiring the view and avoiding crappy movies I read the first 2 books of Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. Flying into Japan there was the most beautiful sunset and I doubt any photos are going to do it justice. Catching a bus from the plane to the terminal, all the instructions were in Japanese so I'm still not sure what I was meant to do so I followed everyone else who looked like they had done this before. My luggage is supposed to be meeting me in L.A. but I went and checked that it wasn't sent here first, but it got so boring watching other people's luggage travel in circles that I gave up after 10 minutes and I just hope it'll find me.
When I got on the bus from the airport to take me to the hotel I was gald I didn't have any luggage with me as someone sitting up the back, looked out the window and noticed their luggage sitting on the footpath instead of in the bus so he spent 5 minutes trying to explain to the bus driver in English, why he wanted him to stop and wait a minute. The hotel is quite nice and I'm on the 10th floor with a view of the airport, which is about all you can ever see from here I think. I searched around the hotel for anywhere with internet access but there appears to be nowhere here to do that so I'll have a look around the airport this afternoon and hopefully get online. The food at the hotel is outrageously expensive and due to feeling sick I hadn't eaten anything for about a day already so I wandered across the road to a 7/11 type store and bought a coke and chocolate. As fun as having nothing to do is, it kinda gets lonely and all the Japanese tv in the world won't help that, (Yugioh is terrible). So I read a bit more of Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy before I went to bed at 9:30pm (Aust. time = 8:30pm local time).
It's now 11am Aust. time and I have about 4 hours to fill before I need to check in at the airport so I might head out there and try to find an internet cafe before I go insane. My flight here leaves at 5:20pm and I arrive in L.A. after a 10 hour flight, at 11:15 in the morning, approximately 6 hours before I boarded the plane in Japan. Weirdness.

I do realise that it is technically day 2 but I couldn't find internet yesterday. When I get to L.A. It'll still be today but much earlier in the morning, so it'll also save having 2 day 2's.
