Seagate and Umart: Part 3
In category General on 26 Sep 2005 @ 10:43 am
Well I returned the drive to Umart where I was informed of a $35 charge if it was ok. I knew it was rooted so I left it there. The next morning there was an email from Umart saying it tested ok. I asked how they tested it and was told that they just ran seatools on it once. For a drive that warms up and resets 2-3 times per second, running seatools isn't going to find shit. So now I'm supposed to pay $35 to pick up a drive that loses all its data and can't be used? Maybe it's time to buy all my stuff from elsewhere. If I find somewhere else I'll let everyone know and we'll use that.
Let us see how this works out.
