Tales of a share house
In category General on 21 Aug 2005 @ 04:11 am
These are not necessarily stories but rather a collection of thoughts or ideas to do with sharing a house with 7 other people. (Most of them are people.)
Cleaning:
It would appear that 8 people = 1/8 the cleaning. Not in this world. It just means you have 7 other people thinking that 7 other people can clean everything themselves.
Showers:
Sharing the hot water with 7 other people forces one to make certain sacrifices. Staying up until 3am to have a hot shower be a good idea most days. Friday and Saturday nights being the exception.
Stories:
Now you never have to think of dull conversation topics to pass the time with your boring and/or stupid co-workers. Nothing that happens in your house is ever normal. Not everyone knows the local police by name.
Company:
2 is company. 3 is a crowd. 8 is an asylum. At least there is always someone to play LAN games against.
Bills:
Can be split 8 ways to cover nasty required fees like line rental. This benefit is sometimes outweighed by international students calling overseas, then moving out before the phone bill arrives.
Parties:
Are fun unless you're trying to sleep. See also: squeaky beds.
Spiders:
One bit me. It hurts. It's not to the point of paralysis yet.

You said crazy, not me. I think I may have been bitten while I was work. Either that or it took me 18 hours to notice.

I feel like everyone is blaming me today.
