I do realise this is a blog. So don't bother..

Why do people making blog posts point to some other blog with a piece of news and add more opinions? Can't we point to the source? It just ends up as a major game of online chinese whispers and if you follow all the links to the source you can see how twisted it all gets as people's opinions are taken as gospel.
