After a rather long discussion with KJ I decided to ask the opinion of my loyal intelligent readers.

The first question is AMD or Intel?
64-bit or 32-bit?
Server or workstation motherboard?

Obviously all these depend on the application but if you were to buy a relatively high-end personal system what would it be? And breifly, explain why?
